BOKEF 2025: A Year of Milestones
Five university graduates. A clean sweep of national exams. Every student's fees for 2026 already cleared.
2025 was a landmark year for the Basket of Kikooko Education Fund. Across every level of the Ugandan education system, BOKEF-supported students delivered results that reflect years of hard work — and the dedication of sponsors, families, and our team on the ground.
Five University Graduates
In 2025, five students supported by BOKEF completed university-level degrees — in fields ranging from medicine to law to education. Each of them represents not just an academic achievement, but a transformation in the possibilities available to their families and communities.
Ayebare Martin
Bachelor of Tourism · Sponsored by Kikooko Africa Safaris
Ayebare graduated with a degree in Tourism — a field that connects directly to Uganda's growing conservation and safari economy, and to the communities where Kikooko Africa Safaris operates.
Mukamariho Amon
Bachelor of Medicine · Sponsored by a couple from Switzerland
Amon's sponsors travelled from Switzerland to attend his graduation in Uganda — a moment that captures everything the BOKEF sponsorship model is built on. The relationship that began with a letter became something far more lasting.
Rugambwa Arinda Isaac
Bachelor of Law, pursuing Masters in Law & LDC · Sponsored by Kikooko Africa Safaris
Isaac completed his law degree and has continued straight into a Masters in Law while simultaneously enrolled at the Law Development Centre — the professional qualification required to practice law in Uganda.
Clerkson
Bachelor of Law, on LDC · Sponsored by Kikooko Africa Safaris
Clerkson graduated with a law degree and is now completing his professional qualification at the Law Development Centre. Two BOKEF-supported lawyers entering the profession is a remarkable outcome for any year.
Tom
Masters in Education (Secondary) · Sponsored by Kikooko Africa Safaris
Tom completed a postgraduate degree in secondary education — equipping him to shape the next generation of Ugandan students. A student who became a teacher.
A Clean Sweep at Every Level
Beyond university, BOKEF students sitting national examinations in 2025 achieved results that no one on the programme takes for granted. Not a single student failed.
PLE
All six Primary Leaving Examination students passed with 1st grade and have moved on to secondary school.
UCE
All six Uganda Certificate of Education students passed. Five joined high school; one is entering a mechanics apprenticeship. All six are sponsored.
UACE
Our Advanced Certificate student passed and will be joining university to study medicine — supported by Kikooko.
Behind the Results: The People Who Make It Work
Results like these don't happen by accident. They are the product of a coordination system that spans continents — sponsors in Europe, a local team in Uganda, and the students themselves.
Nadine manages correspondence and sponsor relationships in Europe. Warren brings letters and support personally when he travels to Uganda. Lydia Ankwasa, our programme coordinator on the ground, ensures everything reaches the right student — and that replies make it back. Sometimes, Kikooko Africa Safaris guests even carry letters in both directions when they visit Uganda.
All 2026 school fees have already been cleared by sponsors. That is a significant act of commitment, and we are grateful to every person who made it possible.
More Students Are Waiting
The BOKEF programme is growing — but the number of students who qualify for support still exceeds the number of sponsors available. Every new sponsor directly closes that gap for one specific child.
